CarbonDEX is a web-based application and a decentralized exchange therefore users can access it through their web browser. Users should also have their own web3 wallets to interact with the DEX. For Chrome users we recommend users to use Metamask wallet extension. Another choice is to use the Opera Crypto Browser where a web3 wallet will be created automatically.
To calculate the user's carbon footprint, the user can click on the ‘calculator’ link and use our internal carbon emission calculator to calculate their carbon emissions for their Flight, Vehicles, Shipping (package shipping from online stores), Electricity, Fuel (for heating) and also from Cryptocurrencies holdings and transactions.
CarbonDEX uses the Polygon Blockchain network, in order to use CarbonDEX, users need to have MATIC tokens to pay for the gas fees charged by the network. Users can purchase MATIC tokens using their debit/credit card by clicking on the ‘Buy Tokens’ link, this will take them to TRANSAK which is our fiat/crypto onboard partner. Users can also purchase USDC tokens from TRANSAK.
The sole medium of exchange of CarbonDEX is our native token, CCOIN. Users can swap their USDC for CCOIN by clicking on the ‘Buy CCOIN’ link.
Users can then purchase the carbon credit tokens listed on CarbonDEX by swapping them with CCOIN.
Users who want to undertake carbon offset can do so by clicking on ‘Carbon Offset’, after filling up their contact email and offset purpose, the user will need to send their carbon credit tokens to a designated redemption wallet, a Carbon Offset Certificate in the form of NFT will be sent to their wallet address within 3 working days after the receipt of the carbon credit tokens.
